Mission Statement

The mission of the KDCC is to provide affordable counseling services for those who are of low income, are not covered by medical insurance policies; are unemployed; working single parent families; students other than McNeese students (i.e. technical school, beauty school, welding school, etc); those who are covered by Medicaid, in need of mental health services, but do not meet the requirements for Medicaid reimbursement of mental health services; or grandparents who have legal custody of grandchildren.
Kay Doré Counseling Clinic - Main Goal

The Kay Doré Counseling Clinic, under the direction of the Department of Psychology at McNeese State University, was created in 2001 through the generosity of the William Dorč Foundation. The main goal for the establishment of the KDCC is to provide an acceptable site where students seeking the MA in Psychology with the Counseling Psychology Concentration or students in the MEd program in School Counseling can engage in counseling as part of their experiential requirements.  All counselors at the clinic are graduate students seeking their MA in Psychology at McNeese State University.  Student counselors will provide clients with information related to the counseling process as well as information about their own training and background.

Many sectors of the community are eligible to receive our service.  If in doubt, please call 475-5981.
